In today’s world, everything is super-duper expensive. A good sports shoes itself can cost somewhere around 17000/- and whereby a two day trip can cost you anywhere from 15K to 50k or go beyond this as well.

However, this is also a new world where the real price is hidden behind a lot of discounts and if you know your way you can end up getting that lovely sports shoe at a 70% discount and can reduce the price of your trip by half.

We at NiveshGyaan have faced this conundrum ourselves and were sure that it gets difficult to find the best deals sometimes on the internet. Therefore, we have tried to compile few of the options which we use personally. Moreover, we would keep updating it whenever we find the better ones.

Yet, if you know some hack which we have not mentioned then do write it in the comment section and we would be happy to put it in our next article with proper credits for your contribution.

We are going to divide this article in various parts i.e. Travel, Eating out, Movies and General. Today, we are going to talk about the best options/deals in the Travel segment.

Travel: Most of us have to travel on daily basis either to office, or to meet client or just for the sake of travel. Here we have compiled four apps which are amazing to use in different travel situation.

Note: We have got a referral code from each of the companies and all of them provide benefits to both the parties. Therefore, we highly encourage you to use the referral codes listed below.

Delhi Metro/Metro: This is just an amazing mode of transport if you stay in Delhi_NCR in terms of saving time and money

Ways to save money on metro:

Metro Card: Most of the metro’s offer 10% discount of your ride fare if you use the respective Metro card.

UPI/Paytm 3rd party app: Most of the UPI platforms i.e. PhonePe, Google Tez and paytm are giving huge discounts if you recharge your metro card through their platform.

Shuttl App: This is the best app for the office going people. If the point where you start and ends is same for mostly all days in a week or month then there is no better app than Shuttl. This is a new age smart transportation service where you get to travel in comfortable AC buses, power packed with security features and with fares as low as Rs2/Km.

If you have been using Uber/Ola till now, we can assure you that now you will end up saving 50-70% of your travel cost through Shuttl.

They charge a minimum of Rs 20 for a ride or depending upon your distance.

By using the referral code 8527209378, you will get 100 Shuttl Credits which you can use for your rides.

Rapido: You need a quick ride and are comfortable with bikes, then I would surely recommend you to explore this app. Rapido is an on demad Bike Taxi platform with charges as low as Rs 5 per Km. I have never found the prices in Uber/Ola bike getting cheaper than this. They started in bangalore and according to their website, now they have now expanded their operations in all the metropolitan cities of India.

Moreover, you could also offer rides to fellow commuters and make some quick bucks.

Uber pass: This is a feature in Uber, you can explore if you end up taking more than 6-7 trips in a month through Uber. Ride Pass gives you consistent, low prices no matter the traffic or time of day. However, there is a catch, currently they are offering only limited passes, so you need to see whether it suits your need or not.

Where to find it: Navigate to the 'Ride Pass' option in your Uber app. Select a Ridesmart Rewards and pay an activation fee.

Zoom Car: This is a self drive car rental company which started in 2013 and available in 9 metropolitan cities of India i.e. Delhi, Gurgaon, Pune, Mumbai, bangalore, chennai, Chandigarh and Vadodara (acc to the website).

This might not look like a money saving option upfront. But, if you consider the additional expenses on maintenance, insurance etc that comes with owning a personal vehicle, then you might be able to visualize the benefits here. Though again it'll vary depending on individuals circumstances and usage.

What I like most about them is that fuel is included in the charges, thus you don’t need to worry about the mileage and secondly they have got the insurance for any damage done.

You can get a hatchback for as low as 70/hr (including fuel)

BlaBla Car connects drivers with empty seats to co-travellers looking for a ride. It is a good option if you want to travel to a different city in comfort of a car, but don't want to spend too much money on private taxi. It lets you travel with two/three other people depending upon the capacity of the car.

In the app, users can enter their source location and destination, and the service will reflect a list of people who are willing to offer the ride.

The service does not have any listed drivers of its own. Users who wish to pool in with other people post sharing requests on the app.

One can reach Chandigarh from New Delhi for as low as Rs 550 per seat. Similarly, taking a BlaBla share ride from Noida to Green Park will cost you somewhere between Rs 30 to Rs 50.

Do let us know if you found the article useful and if we missed some great app and we would be happy to edit our article to add your contribution. Moreover, do let us know if you tried any of these apps and did they help you in saving some of your hard earned money.
